To everyone who is already here, or is en route to the Exceedance conference – joining us in Miami from around the world, a warm welcome awaits as the global risk management community meets once again.

There is such a buzz around Exceedance already, with a great deal of anticipation ahead of tomorrow’s keynotes – to get a first look at the latest new developments, and the kick off of our extensive track program, with seven tracks and some seventy sessions over three days. The stage is set for us to share our vision for this fast-changing industry – and how RMS can bring models, analytics, and data together to provide the risk insight that the market needs. Everyone is ready to go – including our Expert Bar team who will be on hand throughout the two main days of the conference to answer any questions that our delegates have.

Our delegates have already been enjoying Exceedance even before it has officially started with the pre-conference activities. We are indebted to the team at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) based at the Florida International University campus in Miami, welcoming a party of our delegates for a tour of the center. This tour was heavily oversubscribed when we were in Miami for Exceedance last year, and this year’s tour also attracted great interest, as the NHC team explained the work they do, the technology and procedures they use, and provided a tour of their facility.

With the weather holding for our delegates enjoying a round of golf at the historic championship Miami Beach Club, and for the Little Havana food tour, exploring Miami’s incredibly rich Cuban culture, stopping off at five of the most famous Cuban foodie hot spots in the city, we are now getting ready to officially open Exceedance 2019.

Our delegates will join us at the InterContinental overlooking the bayfront here in Miami, for the Welcome Reception, the first of our social events for Exceedance, which will also see RMS celebrate our thirtieth birthday on Tuesday and our “Decades” Exceedance Party on Wednesday. Early birds can also join us for the first of our “Get Up, Get Moving” sessions our Fitness Boot Camp tomorrow before we open with our main keynote.

For our delegates here in Miami, the RMS team are at your disposal to ensure you get what you need from Exceedance, so please reach out. Don’t forget to share your experience on social media using #Exceedance, or through the Exceedance mobile app. And if you are not with us here in Miami, we will be providing regular updates on what is happening at Exceedance here on the RMS blog. Here’s to a great conference!
